Fuzzy Cognitive maps are used for representing structured knowledge and the inference can be computed by numeric matrix operation. In this paper FCM based methodology is used for modeling the clinical behavior of pneumonia affected patients and identifying the severity of pneumonia. A hybrid approach using hebbian learning and genetic algorithm is used for training the FCM. The proposed method is learned with historical data of pneumonia affected patients and tested with real data . The prediction results about pneumonia severity calculated by the FCM approach were similar when compared with the results produced by the pneumonia patient outcomes research team (PORT) pneumonia severity index (PSI) calculator
