Answer two of the following questions, and respond to at least one other student’s post afterward for a total of at least 400 words. 1. According to Sternheimer, what are some of the ways broader society tends to construct idealized, uniform, and nostalgic views of “childhood”? Do you believe that there has been a trend towards protection over preparation? How have your own childhood experiences reflected (or disputed) these ideas? 2. How have notions of childhood changed from the Victorian Era through the postwar economic boom? What socioeconomic factors were involved in these transitions? In what ways do you think this has changed in the past twenty years, and what role do you think media and economic factors have played? 3. According to Sternheimer, what media and public fears seem to permeate discussions over children and technology? What evidence exists that cyberbullying is related to suicide rates in teens, or that internet predators represent a major threat to kids? Are there more direct threats in kids’ lives that tend to get ignored in these discussions? If so, why do you think that this might be the case? And please give a response to this post: (xiaowei yu) My answer to question 1: Everyone has their own diverse childhood. It is hard to provide a definition that everyone agrees with. For some people, childhood might represent happiness. For others, childhood might be painful. According to Sternheimer (2013), people struggle to maintain the sense that childhood means carefree innocence and blame popular culture. Besides, people tend to define children as a unitary group and focus on how they are different from adults. However, people should pay attention to and understand the various experiences and various situations of different children. Children’s realities have an influence on their childhood. I do believe there has been a trend towards protection over preparation. It is important for children to prepare the ability to face the reality of the world (Sternheimer, 2013). Nowadays, parents and adults have fears of changes and unknown. People tend to protect children from potential dangers. People have not realized the best way to protect the children is to let them have the knowledge. Although time changes, people are still trying to maintain the innocence of childhood. In my childhood, I had the freedom to know about the reality of this world. At that time, the technology was still not that developed. The main resource was the television. I was always watching the TV series and TV shows with my family.

Operational excellence :wk15-ch 15:Wiki #2 – Workforce Scheduling
Wikis for Learning and Collaboration A wiki is a collaborative web site that collects and organizes content, created and revised by its users. The most well-known example is Wikipedia. Wikis are a way to grow a knowledge base around a particular content area, be it best practices in a particular field or how to use a specific piece of hardware/software. A hallmark of Web 2.0 is that it improves as more people use it and this approach underlies wiki-based learning. It is based on the idea that within any enterprise, a great deal of knowledge exists among the members. Sharing this knowledge and information can raise the organization’s intelligence level, be it a university, an association, a corporation or club. Wiki Assignment Details: Different kinds of environments need different scheduling techniques. A high-volume environment is typically done through line design and balancing. A low-volume environment typically involves the use of priority rules. In addition, scheduling executes a company’s strategic business plan to include: Accounting relies on schedule information and completion of customer orders to develop revenue projections Marketing focuses on competitive advantage with effectiveness measurements for lead times, flow time, deliveries Information Systems maintains databases, routings and processing times Operations is concerned with priorities and providing customer service Wiki Topic

Respond to one of these prompts and be clear about which one
Respond to one of these prompts and be clear about which one you are referring to: PROMPT #1: A-Theory vs. B-THEORY. Consider this argument: “The subjective A-theory is inferior to the objective B-theory. For the subjective A-theory does not allow us to give a completely objective account of time descriptions. But the objective B-theory does allow us togive a subjective account of time descriptions.” Critically discuss this argument. PROMPT #2: UNCHANGED WORLD. Could there be a world in which there was time, but never any change at all? Explain your answer. PROMPT #3: FUTURE TIME TRAVEL. Even if backward time travel were possible, you could not change the past. But how about forward time travel? Could you change the future if you traveled into the future? If future time travel were possible, would you do it? Explain your answers. PROMPT #4: NATURE OF TIME. Is the question of the nature of time a question to be answered by philosophy, or a question to be answered by physics? Explain your answer. PROMPT #: FATALISM. Suppose you were Osmo and you found the book describing your past and future life in a local library. Would you adopt a fatalistic attitude and why? And please also provide critical feedback to these two people’s posts. PERSON 1: PROMPT #3: FUTURE TIME TRAVEL I think it is possible to change the future. Unlike going back to the past, there will not be an issue with the causal loops or grandfather paradox. Since it is the fact that things that are supposed to happen in the future still haven’t happened from the perspective of “present”, a time traveler is capable of changing the event in the future. However, there will be an issue: retrocausality. Even though this theory hasn’t yet proved, if it were to be true, then effect can precede its cause in time, meaning that a something that happens later actually causes an earlier event in time. Thus, even the time traveler were to try changing the future action, it has already caused an earlier event to happen and that event has happened; thus it is impossible to change the later event. Yet, at the same time, this theory breaks the law of The Second Law of Thermodynamics, which states that time is driven as we experiment it. Nevertheless, in my opinion, it is still capable of changing the future. Also, if future time travel is possible, I would like to travel to three years from now and see what I am doing, but it’s unlikely that I try to change something in the future even it is possible. I believe that I should just follow what will be waiting for me. PERSON 2: Prompt #4: In my view, the question of the nature of time is a question to be answered by Physics. The key differentiator between Physics and Philosophy in this case is that Physics is rooted in real world experimentation, and that Philosophy is rooted in a logical process in which the mental processes of humans play a major role. Although Philosophy is needed for answering many of the worlds most important questions, the nature of time has to do with the fundamental nature of the physical fabric of reality, which makes it a question best answered by Physics. Because philosophy is not rooted in real world experimentation, the assumptions that are made have more potential to be untrue. Philosophical assumptions ultimately stem from human reasoning, and are therefore subject to human intuition. We know from fields such as quantum mechanics that many of the most fundamental aspects of the universe are actually deeply counterintuitive, rendering any system that relies more than necessary on human intuition to be unideal. Difficult students can be found in both the online environment and
Difficult students can be found in both the online environment and in traditional college classrooms. Left unchecked, troublesome behavior is likely to become increasingly distracting as a semester progresses. Managed well, difficult behaviors provide opportunities to teach the offending student appropriate skills to be successful in college and in life. Managed poorly, these behaviors can lead to low performance evaluations and a poor learning environment for all students. For this week’s assignment, you will demonstrate your potential for working with—instead of against—students with difficult behavior. In a word document, video or slide presentation or another layout of your choosing, address all the required topics listed below. Although there is no page or length requirement for this assignment to allow creative freedom, make sure that you have fully addressed all the required topics, using the textbook and at least two additional source to support your answers. Be sure to cite your sources appropriately both in-text and separate reference page in APA format as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Content: Explain how to recognize and address the earliest stage of developing problems using research for supporting evidence. Describe appropriate intervention strategies for different styles of behavior using in-text citations to support your writing. Identify the foundational theory behind the intervention strategies for difficult and unmotivated students. List and Explain the Do’s and don’ts of working with frustrated, unmotivated students. Summarize the process for making referrals to appropriate campus resources. Written Communication: Syntax and Mechanics: Exhibit meticulous use of grammar, spelling, organization, and usage throughout your submission. Source Requirement: Reference at least two scholarly sources in addition to the course textbook in order to provide compelling evidence to support your ideas. APA format: All in text citations, page format and references must be written in APA 6th edition format.
