Chapter One Research proposals begin with an introduction that includes: Introduction, Statement of the Problem, Purpose of the Study, Research Questions, Definitions of Terms, Significance of the Study and Limitations of Study. (4-5 pages) B. Literature Review (30 pts.) Chapter Two The literature review creates the pathway from which the proposed study evolves. Only primary sources are used and are from empirical sources in peer-reviewed journals. At least 8 empirical sources are present. The chapter includes: Introduction presents an outline of the chapter including the topics/themes discussed and the overarching ideas represented in the articles reviewed. Sub-headings denote the themes that emerged from the literature. Each section is written as discussion of the literature and provides a rationale for the proposed research. The chapter concludes with a Summary of the Literature presented in the chapter. The Literature Review (Chapter 2) is presented as a synthesis of the sources reviewed and not as individual summaries. (A minimum of 12 pages are required) C. Methodology (10 pts.) Chapter Three The methodology section provides an explanation as to how the proposed research would be conducted. Included in this section is the Introduction, Selection of Subjects, Instrumentation used to conduct your research (survey, observation…), and a specific description of how the study would conducted. Include Data Procedures and Collection, and Data Analysis Procedures. The chapter concludes with a summary of the methodology as described in the chapter. (6-7 pages)
