What were the main characteristics of

World War II in the Asian theater? Historians believe that the war in Asia began in 1937 with the Japanese invasion of China (two years before the war began in Europe). Why did the Japanese begin the war? What occurred in China at the hands of the Japanese that ranked as one of the worst assaults against human rights during the war?
