Psychological Schools Paper (DUE 9/22)

You are to complete a five (5) page research paper on one (1) of the modern schools of psychology described in Chapter 1 of your textbook. You may choose from: behavioral, psychoanalytic, humanistic, cognitive, biological and evolutionary.

In your paper, you should address the following topics: history and timeline of the school/perspective, major theorists, major theoretical assumptions/tenets, and major applications of the theory.

You are to select three (3) outside sources, in addition to your textbook, to complete your paper. These sources may be academic books and websites, but NOT online encyclopedias, such as Wikipedia. Try to use at least one (1) psychological journal article. You must use either MLA or APA style to cite your sources within the text, as well as to construct your reference list.

You are to use Times New Roman 12 point font. Your paper should be double-spaced with 1″ margins all around. Remember, the required five pages refers to the body of the paper. This number does NOT include your title page, abstract page, or reference page.

There are plenty of case studies and material regarding the TJX breach that occurred in 2007. “In January 2007, TJX reported that it had suffered from a computer intrusion. The company was not sure of the identity of the perpetrators nor of how many customers were affected. A deeper analysis revealed that the intrusion had started earlier and affected more customers than previously thought. Ensuing investigations concluded that TJX was collecting unnecessary information, keeping it for too long and employing obsolete and insufficient safeguards. Scenario: Imagine you are the owner of a small fictional business where you employ five people. You need to budget for the cost of hardware and software needed to run company operations. Each employee is required to work both in the business and remotely, and needs access to company data at all times.

Choose the hardware and software that will provide your employees with the ability to stay connected to internal company data, communicate and collaborate with coworkers, and process data and information using word processing and spreadsheet software applications.

Create a business budget sheet using Microsoft® Excel®. In the budget sheet, do the following:

  • List the make and model of desired computing devices and their cost.
  • List software applications for each device and their costs.
  • Sum up the cost for both computing devices and software applications for each employee.
  • Insert a graph or chart displaying total costs graphically.
  • Label columns/rows with titles reflecting data they contain.
  • Format data to highlight important totals.
