I learn from the e-Activity that the importance of production planning and scheduling within an organization is, to enable organizations to respond to changes in materials, resources and priorities faster and smarter. Due to inefficient in planning and scheduling, I had to miss my appointment with my a doctor one day, because of poor planning and scheduling, when I went to visit my doctor, I found another patient already there in his office and this patient took so long in the office (overstayed) in the office until I had to leave, otherwise if I had to wait, I would have been late to the other appointment where I was supposed to go that day. From my experience with my doctor, I suggest that the planners in that doctors office should use APS-tools to maker faster and smarter decisions to predict changes in time process- APS is a technology driven tool to help in planning and scheduling to be more efficient and effective.

You have just been promoted from front-line supervisor to be one of the firm’s senior managers. During your business education, you learned that the primary role of a manager is to make good decisions.
