Critical assessment of current approaches to increase efficiency and output of proton exchange fuel cells (PEMFCs) while reducing platinum content
Description
Review of recent literature (within last 5 years) on alternatives to full platinum loading and compare methods of ultra-low loading, Pt-alloys and platinum-free catalysts. To be set into chapters as below: Chapter 4 4.1 Pt-alloys focus particularly on Activity & Stability while reducing Pt content Chapter 5 Non-Pt catalysts focus particularly on Activity & Stability while reducing Pt content Chapter 6 Ultra-low loading focus particularly on Activity & Stability while reducing Pt content The scope of this work is a review and synthesis of research carried out in the last 5 years on reducing or removing the use of platinum group metals (PGMs) in hydrogen fuel cells with a view to lowering costs.
