Choose from one of the two topics below (bottled water or carbon offsetting) for this discussion question. Each topic has a few sources associated with it. Before you read posts from your classmates, read all the sources, and practice the “they say”/ “I say” techniques (ideas are available at http://csuglobal.libguides.com/draft) as well as generating in-text citations.

Specifically, for your initial response, summarize the argument or stance of the author in each source, connect the argument to another source, and state your interpretation of the issue in your initial response to the discussion forum.

After you have posted your response, read, and comment on the responses of your classmates. Keep in mind, sometimes writers will indicate more research needs to be done on an issue and there are not necessarily “right” and “wrong” answers here. There may be, however, stronger ways to summarize works, the possibility for different conclusions to be made, and varying methods for incorporating in-text citations.
