Hello, I need you to help me with creating a WBS
Hello, I need you to help me with creating a WBS. Work Breakdown Structure is a hierarchical and incremental
decomposition of the project into phases, deliverables and work packages. It is a tree structure, which shows a subdivision of effort required to achieve an objective; for example a program, project, and contract.
The WBS is on a Computer Cafe’ located near a college campus. I have attached 2 documents which give an in-depth information about the Computer Cafe. And also attached a power point presentation and an example on how the WBS should be.
More about the WBS:
When assigning durations, start dates, and end dates, remember to let the sub tasks drive the durations, start dates, and end dates of the higher-level tasks. When we build the WBS, we build it top-down, starting with the project name, then the higher level phases/stages, and then break those down into their smaller and smaller pieces. However, when we assign dates, start dates, and end dates, we do that bottom-up, with the smallest pieces driving the durations and dates of the larger ones.
Don’t forget about the predecessors that I walked through. The most common predecessor relationship is the Finish-to-Start (FS) relationship. It’s so common that it’s also the default in MS Project. This relationship, if you recall from class, means that Task A has to finish before Task B can begin. Also remember from when I talked about tasks like Pour Concrete/Finish Concrete and Remove Forms. Even though this is an FS relationship, we can’t remove the forms immediately after pouring and finishing the concrete, otherwise it will ooze out all over. For this, we need to lag, or wait, 3 days before we can remove the forms. That lag can be captured in MS Project by using the lag functionality under the Predecessors tab that you’ll see if you double-click on a task name.
Please do this in Microsoft Project but if it is not possible Visio is alright. I would prefer the document in its original format and also a screenshot of it in MS Word.
Thank You
