2x-y=5
5x+2y=8Here

is what I did. 

   2x-y=5

-x2   -x2

-y=-2x+5
                   
                                 y = 2x-5

                             5x+2(2x-5)=8
                   
                              5x+4x-10=8

                              9x-10 = 8
  
                                  +10   +10

                                   9x=18

                                     /9   9/

                                    x=2
