Cities in the Realm

FORUM 1

Cairo, Egypt is the most important realm. The different changes and growth it has made throughout the years has become a great tourist attraction. One of the biggest attractions is the historical Nile River. The Nile River is where Moses was put in a basket and sent along the river where he was later found by the Pharaoh’s sister who raised him as her own. The city has developed historical monuments to include the Mosque of Baybars museum. Numerous international events are being held in Cairo. What best defines this realm is the fact that it is one of Africa’s largest cities. There is a significant number of Christians in this realm. Muslim faith is now the most practiced religion. The city subway began in 1987 and has expanded drastically to today’s modern technology. The city was overcrowded and they began expanding throughout the years to accommodate the population.

I believe Cairo will be the most important realm in future. This city has grown so much in the recent years and is still finding ways to improve their economy and tourist attractions. Even though in the past the city had become overcrowded, they have managed to build different buildings and expand the city. Cairo only has two seasons. They enjoy eight months of summer weather and four months of winter. -gra

The city of Beirut in the country of Lebanon is a very interesting city. There is so much history in the city and still is being found out. Beirut had been established over 5,000 years ago. It has gone through some of the most important time periods that the world has seen. It has been a critical part of the Mediterranean. When it was founded by the Phoneticians it became a critical part of trading within the region. It was also a major city for many different empires starting with the Greeks, then the Romans in later times it was influence by European culture. In culture terms you can consider it a big melting pot. At one time people, referred it to as the French  Rivera of the Middle East. It was once an economic powerhouse before all the multitude of  different conflict of the region. The country was once a beautiful place with different hotels and places to stay. In the city there was a lot of shopping and things to do. Now that it has been all destroyed now they do not have that to be able to attract the tourists that once came. If they get rid of the terrorists and resolve their conflicts with their neighbors. Perhaps they could rebuild and be tourist hotspot once again. Based on my research it appears that the Beirut Stock Exchange once again trying to get back into the global market, meaning they are trading with the New York Stock Exchange. -Row

I have to agree, I find Dubai to be very interesting. Arial views of it are absolutely breath taking. From the tallest buildings you could imagine, to man made islands shaped like palm trees. They go above and beyond and are always looking to shock the world with what they will build next. I hope one day to be able to visit Dubai and experience its beauty in person.
