Currently, many health initiatives are being implemented at the community level. Because of this, the civic experiential learning activity allows you the opportunity to attend a governmental based meeting that affects health of that community from the perspective of a local, state, regional or national agency ~ of course I would love it to be nursing based, but your area of interest is what is important here, not mine. (Again, this can be done online!)
Examples of this would be something like a city council meeting, or a state/national legislature meeting. Submit a formal report on the proceedings to include the observations of the meeting and possible impacts on the health of the associated community.
As with the professional experiential learning, you can attend the meeting virtually. Just access your community’s online archives to see if they have a recorded meeting that interests you ~ Just make sure that it is no older than 90 days.
