Seminar Leader and Reaction Papers:
Each student will be responsible for
helping to
leading
one
seminar class.  Leading class
discussion will involve summarizing
one or more
readings for the class
, providing a handout covering
the basic highlights of the reading material, and posing questions to the class to facilitate class
discussion.  
Each student will also be required to turn in a 2
–
3 page (double
–
spaced) reaction paper on the day he
or she i
s the seminar leader.  A reaction paper should include a critical review of the readings for the
day.  The paper should demonstrate the student’s engagement with the reading topic.  The reaction
paper
should not
just be
a summary of the readings.
