John contracts with ABC Company to have his garage painted

for $10,000.00. Payment is due upon completion.

ABC Company completes $2,000.00 of the work then accepts $15,000.00 to build another person’s garage and tells John they will not be able to finish his garage.

John then contracts with the XYZ Company to build the garage for $13,500.00. What remedy is available to John? How much can he collect from the ABC Company? Is the ABC Company entitled to any payment for the work it completed?
