A college prep course is one of several electives offered each semester
to high school students. A researcher wanted to examine if there is a difference in SAT scores for students randomly assigned to take the college prep course in comparison to those randomly assigned to a different elective. Students willing to participate in this study indicated willingness to be arbitrarily assigned to one of those two courses, and signed an informed consent. Students were waived the class entry fees to either class if willing to participate.
