Instructions
You must submit two main deliverables, one for each part of what is re-
quested in the following sections of this document. The answers to the
questions in Part I should all be present in a PDF file named part1.pdf.
For Part II, if you take option 1 you need to include all files in a ZIP file
named part2.zip, if you take option 2 your essay must be in a PDF file
named part2.pdf. Note that your submission must include both parts si-
multaneously, do not submit them separately.
You will submit your work electronically by means of the submission
script submitCoursework which can be found on the Department of Com-
puter Science’s teaching server – teaching.cs.rhul.ac.uk.
The submission will take place on that server and the script’s usage is
submitCoursework <your directory>
For example, assuming the directory with all deliverables (files) is assignment
then you should submit it by typing in the following command from its
parent directory on teaching.cs.rhul.ac.uk:
submitCoursework assignment
and then follow the instructions accordingly.
The files you submit cannot be overwritten by anyone else, and they cannot
be read by any other student. You can, however, overwrite your submission
1
as often as you like, by resubmitting, though only the last version submitted
will be kept. Submission after the deadline will be accepted but it will au-
tomatically be recorded as being late and is subject to College Regulations
on late submissions. Please note that all your submissions will be graded
anonymously. You must not include your name in any of the sub-
mission items, including file contents and directory or file names.
In addition to the procedure described above, School of Man-
agement students need to submit one hard copy to the School of
Management Reception (for this case just Part 1 of the assign-
ment). It is important that you get the identification number from the
system generated email which you will be sent shortly after you submit your
work electronically, as you will be required to enter this number on the
Student Assessment Feedback Form which is attached to your hard copy
submission.
