Gender equality and economic development
Introduction
More and more governments and international organization focus on the development of gender equality and economic development. Gender inequality become a very important issue for developing countries. The level of gender equality influence countries every side. There are so many gender equalities and discrimination against female in this world. It is true that women still do not have right like men in some poor countries. International organizations and media always exposure sexism issues to get public eye. They use public opinion to make some governments change law to protect women right. Their reports are effective and positive in gender equality, but it is not effect a permanent cure. It is well-know that most inequality issues happened in poor developing countries. It is not mean there are no inequality issues in developed countries, it means that women face more social bad environment in developing countries than developed countries. These obvious differentia between developed countries and developing countries is economic development level. In other words, the level of gender equality and level of economic development may have some relationship. Is that high level gender equality will promote the development of economy or economic development will change gender inequalities. This paper will focus on the relationship between gender equality and economic development to explore how gender inequalities impede the economic development and what developing countries should do for improve social status of women in future.
In this first part of this paper will talk about the international societal situation to show the relationship between global gender gap and GDP per capital. Using data to compare different countries as variable-controlling approach and prove that economic development will change the development gender equality in positive ways. Next, this paper will show how gender inequality hinder the development of economic. After that, this paper will focus on the women’s participation in the labor market to show different level of support for gender equality from employment women and full-time housewives. I will give some suggestions to developing countries how to improve gender equality and economic development. These suggestions will be focus on two aspects: education and political right.

Group Therapy for Addiction

Group Therapy for Addiction
Consider the following scenario:
The psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner is working for a community health clinic that offers state mandated “intensive outpatient rehabilitation” services for individuals who face incarceration for driving while under the influence. Mr. Smith, a 24-year-old male patient, shows up for his initial intake appointment and says, “Look, this sounds like it’s going to be an AA meeting. Can’t I just go there? I only had a couple of drinks. I don’t know why the judge was such a jerk.”
Clients with addictive disorders may present for therapy for various reasons. Some, like Mr. Smith, attend because it is court mandated. Some attend because family or friends have pushed them to do so, while others may attend because life has become unmanageable. Regardless of clients’ reasons for presenting for therapy, to reach these clients and effectively treat them, you must be able to break down barriers, establish relationships, and help them see the benefits of this therapeutic approach.

· Determine whether or not you would use the same psychotherapeutic approach
if you were the counselor facilitating this group and justify your decision.

it is an appropriate option.
· Support your position with evidence-based literature.

Quantitative Research Designs

Order description:
Select a topic from the list below and search the Online Library to find two different quantitative research studies addressing that issue:
Caregiver stress
Anxiety in children
Sleep apnea
Depression in college freshmen
Rural health care issues
Post-traumatic stress syndrome
Traumatic brain injury in veterans
Health effects of environmental contaminants
Bipolar disorder
End-of-life ethical issues
Alternative medicine
For each of the sources that you select, identify the type of quantitative research design used, and evaluate whether it is the most appropriate approach to the research.
Consider the ramifications of choosing an inappropriate design for a research study.
Post the topic you selected, references for the two sources you identified, and the quantitative research design used in each. Critique the appropriateness of the design used and justify your comments with information from the Learning Resources. Discuss the ramifications of choosing an inappropriate design for a research study.
Chapter 9
Box 9.1 Guidelines for Critiquing Research Designs in Quantitative Studies
1. Type of Question: Causes and Effects (i.e. How will the introduction of eMAR affect the current nursing workflow?). Yes, the research question concerns a possible relationship between the independent variable (presumed cause=eMAR), and the dependent variable (presumed effect=nursing workflow).
2. The strongest design for the research question: Descriptive Research. The study design was derived from time-motion studies which are descriptive observational studies performed at another institution.
3. No, there were no intervention or treatment. Data was obtained based on strict observation and no direct contact towards patients or nurses were made.
4. Although participants were selected at random, the study was not a randomized-control trial. The researchers only observed and the independent variable was not manipulated in any way or form.
5. The design is not quasi-experimental. It was a non-experimental research study.
6. Yes, the design used is a descriptive study strictly based on actual observations. The specific design is based on time-motion studies (Descriptive Research). From all the individuals (all RNs, from the same institution) who volunteered to participate, one nurse was selected at random.
7. The type of comparisons made on this study looks at the administration activities performed by nurses to characterize the activities involved with medication administration. Data compared included the average time spent on medication administration (26.9%) and time spent on non-medication related activities (73.1%). The relationship between the observed independent variable (medication administration) and the dependent variable (nurse workflow) were adequately represented for the purpose of the study.
8. No, the research is not longitudinal. The timing of data collection over a 6 month period was appropriate to capture “real-time” observations. The number of data collected was mentioned by researchers to be one of the limitations to the study because it was performed at only one institution.
9. No, there were no blinding or masking used. The researchers claimed that the burden of recording is placed on the observer, and were confident that they will be capturing accurate data on the time spent by the subject. Although no interventions were provided, there could have been alteration in the outcome due to knowing that they are being observed. Individuals fearing a computerized MAR might extended the time needed to perform a specific task which might skew data towards a more favorable time.
