Annual Sustainability Report – Business Comparison
Some notes about my paper. On the first page in the second paragraph it’s highlighted in yellow, I’m not sure how to cite that paragraph as its information from the report but not all a direct quote. If you can find a way to rephrase this, please do so.
I have to answer the following questions in regards to the Coca-Cola report. The ones highlighted in yellow have been answered. Step 3 questions I did not start on and step 2 questions , I wrote some information but needs more emphasis.
- Do the metrics that are presented lead you to believe that the company is on track towards sustainability as you or others define it? Why? Why not?
- Consider different viewpoints on sustainability. How would this report reflect sustainability:
- To a business person or investor
- To an environmental scientist
- To an activist or concerned member of the public.
I answered the viewpoint to an investor, and started to answer to an activist but that can be edited and sustainability to an environmental scientist has to be answered.
Step 2: Compare two businesses: How does the Exxon-Mobil (or Coca-Cola) report compare to the other company you chose?
Compare and contrast the two reports by answering the following questions:
- What key points (in your opinion) are emphasized or omitted by each company? Started this, needs more emphasis.
- In your evaluation, which company is more sustainable? Why? (wrote some information, need more details on why coca-cola is more sustainable)
Step 3: Compare the report with third-party guidelines for voluntary sustainability reporting
- For Coca-Cola Enterprises, you will refer to the G4 voluntary reporting standards of the Global Reporting Initiative.
Consider the following questions:
- Do the voluntary guidelines sufficiently measure (social, environmental, or economic) sustainability)?
- Does the company’s annual report emphasize relevant third-party guidelines?
- Is this a good way to keep companies on track for sustainability?
Step 4: Complete your written summary
- Your written summary will be a brief essay that addresses the questions outlined in steps 1-3 and your analysis of how this report relates to concepts from class. You should include specific data from the companies’ reports, and these should be properly cited.
- The full summary should not be more than 4-5 pages (not including footnotes, references, or attachments), single-spaced, 12 pt. font.
