  Physical Environment 

A community assessment begins with a basic windshield survey where each community subsystem is explored.  The physical environment is often the first subsystem assessed and provides guidelines to identify characteristics in the physical environment that can impact health.

Click on the Enter Sentinel City® and continue your virtual experience by taking a bus tour of Sentinel City®.  Since this is your second tour, feel free to choose any bus speed and/or get off the bus at any time to walk around.  As you take the tour, write down your observations, specifically focused on the subsystem: physical environment.  Meet with Mayor Hill to discuss the subsystem: physical environment.  Compile your observations and any demographic information addressing each item listed in the first column of the rubric.  You are encouraged to add other relevant characteristics you observe that may not be listed in the first column as you complete this activity.

· Explain the coaching best practices you would apply and why.

Step Four: Carry out the coaching intervention.

· List the coaching questions you might develop to ensure that learning opportunities and interventions are applied as needed, and explain how any additional development opportunities might help to address your intended coaching goals.

Step Five: Observe performance.

· Explain the observation method you will use to assess whether or not your coaching has been effective.

Step Six: Give feedback.

· Describe how you will administer feedback to this individual.

Assignment: Practice Hours: each module has a minimum required practice hours related to your work on the main education project. Note that you should briefly review all of the determinants and then choose the ones that impact your target group to talk about in the assignment.  Be sure to review the link information in the classroom on Core Determinants of Health.  You will then use the power point you created as a visual and record your voice, narrating your power point. 

3. The presentation should be between 5 and 7 minutes in length. Use a recording platform of your choice  (note that screencast o matic is the easiest) and either upload as an mp4 or share the link directly to the video in the drop box.
