Read the following Tasks, and prepare a report with the guidelines provided.
Structural guidelines:
 

  1. The word limit for report should be between 5000-6000, excluding cover pages, references and appendices.
  2. The report must contain a cover page with the topic title, table of contents, brief abstract, list of tables, figures and diagrams specifying their numbers and respective page numbers.
  3. The report should be concluded with a proper referencing, prepared on Harvard Referencing Style, which must be reflected in in-text citations.
  4. The report also must contain logical conclusions and recommendations in the end.
  5. The report must contain references adhering to Harvard Referencing Style in the end.
Assignment Task 1 This task addresses the three assessment criteria under Learning Outcome 1
Explain the link between management and leadership with specific reference to the difference between the two disciplines. Analyze and discuss how management and leadership impact strategic decisions and explain how leadership styles can be adapted to different situations in the workplace. Give practical examples from your own workplace and evaluate how the leadership style(s) followed there is suitable or unsuitable in achieving organisational objectives.
The assessment criteria that need to be considered are:

▪         AC 1.2: Analyse the impact of management and leadership styles on strategic decisions.

Review the impact that selected theories of management and leadership have on your organisational strategy and create a leadership strategy that you believe will support your organisation’s direction. Apply the theories of management and leadership covered in the module and give practical application thereof based on your workplace experience. Rather than just repeating theories, explaining the practical application of them is important here.
The assessment criteria that need to be considered are:
▪         AC 2.1: Review the impact that selected theories of management and leadership have on organisational strategy.
▪         AC 2.2: Create a leadership strategy that supports organisational direction.

Building on the second task, you now need to use the appropriate methods, as we have discussed during the sessions, to review the current leadership requirements specific to your organisation’s direction, objectives and goals. Based on the shortcomings and organisational specific leadership and managerial needs, relative to its envisaged strategy, you need to construct a plan for the recruitment and future development for 2 specific leadership roles in the organisation.
