How can i respond to the following discussion below? Discussion is from IFSM 300

I found Amazon’s Strategic plan is very interesting. As we know Amazon is the world’s largest internet-based retailer in the United States. Amazon started as an online bookstore, then expanding into selling apparel, furniture, and the list goes on. How is Amazon staying ahead of the rest of the market competitors like Walmart, Google, Apple, Microsoft and other internet retailers? Amazon didn’t rise to power by creating a new product or service but came to power by using existing industries. It came to power by systematically taking down an entire existing industry. It is a story that called for strategic depth, not technical wizardry, design brilliance or sheer energy. Amazon has a strategic approach to its business, unlike a lot of other companies that will make sudden impulses, pet projects, or knee-jerk reactions. Amazon doesn’t like to revamp or make all new processes, they like to use what is already in place and builds upon it. Eliminating any down time or disruption is service. They are continuously finding ways of making it easier for the customers to purchase what they want, while thinking of ways to stay of head of the competitors.

I will say they are good, but not great. Yet, time and again, Amazon wins. I’d even go so far as to say that Amazon is the only one that even has a strategic approach to its business. This is actually the reason other companies seem so responsive to PR issues: when there isn’t much of a larger game-plan in progress, each move and counter-move ends up being considered in isolation. The response can be optimally tailored to the immediate situation. With Amazon though, you get the sense that you are watching a chess game unfold, in which Amazon is thinking multiple moves ahead, along several fronts. The opponents seem to fumble, rant and rave like so many headless chickens, while Amazon continues to systematically dismantle them. Structure follows strategy, as Alfred Chandler famously said, and you can see this most clearly with Amazon. The entire company is organized around a gigantic chess game. Every asset is a piece on the board.
