Instructions
Task 1: Vector Graphic
Part A
This task requires students to research and develop a Logo for a fictitious internet-based business.
The logo must be for the business name you have been given. Marks will be deducted for the
wrong business and any non-vector image components.
Part A requires students to complete LAC Task 2: Logo & Website Design Journal, found on Study
Smart under the Language in IT section, or click the link below:

Marks are given for:
• Demonstrating good research skills – on paper, sketch and annotate (3) potential logo designs;
take a photograph of your sketches and insert into your SS Journal (artistic ability does not count)
• Demonstration of logo development – provide evidence of the steps/stages in the creation of your
logo. These will be displayed in the layers panel in your .Ai file submission
Part B
This task requires students to use Adobe Illustrator to create a vector graphic logo for the given
business. The final logo will be submitted as an Adobe Illustrator .Ai file.
Marks are given for:
• Logo size 200 pixels X 200 pixels
• Demonstrating good design principles (simple, consistent, readable, balance, etc.)
• Suitability to business – logo must contain name and symbolism (combination mark)
• Quality of your work and imagination
Task 2: Bitmap Graphic
This task requires students to use Adobe Photoshop to create a montage consisting of four (4)
product images suited to the given business. These images must be copyright free and ‘labeled for

reuse with modification’. How to find copyright free images on the Internet can be found on Study

Marks are given for:
• Montage image size 800 pixels X 500 pixels
• Remove the background from each image
• Re-order the four image layers to create a montage
• Scale and position the images to create a balanced perspective composition
Submit your work:
Place both files (.Ai Logo and .Ps Montage) in a folder
Place the 4 original images used for the montage in the folder
Zip (compress) the folder
Submit the zipped file to Study Smart before 5:00pm on Friday 6th September 2019

Academic Integrity and Turnitin in Study Smart:

Absence from an exam:
A ZERO (0) will be awarded for a missed Examination tasks. However, if the absence is due to
illness a Medical Report form may be submitted. See further information below.
Medical Report for missed Exams:
If you miss an Exam due to illness a Medical Report form (found in Study Smart) needs to be
completed by a Registered Medical Practitioner (doctor) in order to have the opportunity to reverse
the rules above.
