MPO essay questions 2014-15 Essay 2 (3500 words) Question: Have employees benefited from the transition to more post-bureaucratic forms of organisation in the private sector? Explain your answer using theory and evidence. Your coursework assignments must be typed (Times New Roman, 12 point, double spaced). This course is about how organisations behave and how people behave in organisational settings. It is intended to be both practically useful and intellectually challenging. The module will explore three distinct bodies of knowledge: firstly, the informal and tacit knowledge of organizations you have built up in your everyday lives; secondly, contributions from mainstream approaches to organizational behaviour (OB) and management studies; and finally, alternative, critical approaches drawn from OB and the wider social science disciplines. Course Aims The aim is to provide an understanding of organizational analysis and behaviour through reliance on the tacit knowledge of students and on social and human sciences such as management, philosophy, political science, psychology, and sociology.
