Thesis Statement: Otto Von Bismarck most important goal was to make sure that he united the German states into a well-built empire with Prussia at the foundation.
Topic sentence 1: nationalism allowed Germany to weigh the importance of the wars against their enemies
Bismarck began three wars that established the power of Prussia in Europe. It is a fact that he did this to unify Germany against France, Denmark, and Austria. He, however, ensured that Prussia was at the center hence becoming the powerhouse. His idea of strengthening Prussia led to the small country becoming a superpower with the strongest army.
It is speculated that Bismarck had personal interests in making Prussia the core of the unification. He was from the country hence it made sense to make his home the strongest. This way he gathered support from his people. However, nationalism slowed down his intentions, as he was required to involve the whole nation in his bid of unification.
It is a fact that Bismarck did his calculations correctly on the War he instigated. He encouraged the Wars against enemy countries but declined to tax war insurance against the Austrians.
Topic sentence 2: Bismarck policies were threatened by intervention from foreign countries
Bismarck was an outstanding orator and used this to plan as well as manipulate the king. He knew the best way to have his ideas implemented, and this was how he was able to create unification among the German States
Bismarck formed the unification of Germany through exploiting nationalism instead of opposing it. The nationalism worked in his favor as it provided a moral issue which helped in justifying the wars.
Bismarck roused political tension between Prussia and France. This was done through the editing of a telegram from King William I to make sure that the two countries felt insulted by each other. This led to a war that saw Prussia emerge the victor. He continued to insist that his actions were for the unification of German and not to further his political career.
Topic sentence 3: the possibility of having peaceful negotiations also threatened the policies

Bismarck did not believe in gaining power by sitting down and waiting. He did everything in his power to make sure that he made Prussia the most influential state with the greatest indomitable army. However, critics did not support his approach, as they believed that his focus was on the country instead of the nation.
Nationalism interfered with his intentions of creating foreign allies Bismarck thought would be beneficial for his aggressive foreign policies. Bismarck had skills that allowed hi manipulation of the King to get his agendas prioritized. However, when William I died his son whom Bismarck could not manipulate succeeded him. As a result, the new king forced Bismarck out hence the end of his schemes.
