New Testament Book Summaries

Write a concise summary of the major theme of each Book of the New Testament. The length of each summary should be between 140-150 words, with 150 being the maximum allowed. This assignment skips Matthew and Mark, and begins with Luke. All books of the NT, Luke through Revelation, must be covered. The sources for this writing must be from conservative, Protestant based sources (the class orientation leans toward Baptist beliefs). MLA must be used throughout, and direct quotes are allowed only from the NKJV of the Bible. Other sources can (and should) be cited and referenced, but not directly quoted. Quotes from the NKJV should be used sparingly and only used when needed for great emphasis. Each summary must include at least the following: title of the Book, author, the date of writing, to whom it was written, for what purpose was it written, major theme(s). In NO case should anything be included that would question a belief that the Bible is God’s Word for humanity or indicating errors in the text.
