our Task. List at least five writing weaknesses. Then revise

Question our Task. List at least five writing weaknesses. Then revise the message implementing an effective persuasive strategy. See Chapter 11 for suggestions about improving meetings. Consider volunteering to help develop and carry out the policy being requested. To: Randolph Williams From: Karissa Kuhn Subject: Miserable Staff Meetings Cc:Attached:Good morning!I wonder if you know how bad meetings are around here. We seem to have endless meetings that drag on and on forever. I myself attended five meetings within the building but also was forced to participate in three more conference call meetings. And that was just last week! Nearly every one of those meetings was poorly run. Some should never have been called because they merely announced information after a decision had already been made. Some could easily have been handled in an e-mail. Sometimes I think our meetings are really opportunities to socialize under the guise of “work.” Our meetings are huge time suckers.I’m going to level with you and tell it like it is. Something needs to be done about the lost productivity and sagging employee morale around here. No one likes to waste valuable time attending poorly run or unnecessary meetings. Apparently, our managers have not been trained in how to conduct meetings, although I realize that all of them are professional and have business training. What we need is a meeting policy or something like that. We need some guidelines or training about how to conduct meetings. Has anyone thought of that? I can think of many ways to improve meetings. Could we please talk about this?Karissa Kuhn Project ManagerList at least five weaknesses.

I need to outline the most important case facts.Based on my analysis, how can I provide at least two recommendations. I need to be sure my recommendations are related to my analysis.I need to outline why are these recommendations essential for the firm.Up in SmokeAt some point in 2018, Canada will legalize marijuana. According to a poll in late 2017, 65percent of those asked were in favour of legalization. However, more than half of those polledin the same survey stated their concern that Canada was not equipped for this to happen. Mostconcern was related to possible problems at the provincial level, where many of the logistics ofmarijuana legalization will happen. This trepidation, along with arguments over tax allotments for each level of government, seemsto be the main focus of the concerns over legalization of marijuana. Local governments arestruggling to come up with a plan to handle all the possible issues around this event, everythingfrom the creation of punishment for driving under the influence of marijuana to keeping largeamounts of the soon-to-be legal substance out of the hands of criminal organizations. The inevitability of this event is one of the few times in a generation that a new controlledsubstance will be allowed instead of curtailed or eliminated. Canadians have watched ascigarettes and their users have become pariahs, subjects of very restrictive laws and regulationson the use and promotion of cigarettes. Meanwhile, promotion of alcoholic beveragescontinues to be monitored, with more promotion being seen on the negative impacts ofdrinking (e.g., drinking and driving) than on promotion of the beverages. While much debate and last-minute planning continue in an effort to ensure a relativelysmooth introduction of a controlled substance like marijuana, there has been less of a focus onthe restrictions and regulations regarding its promotion. In the summer of 2017, 16 licensedmarijuana producers worked with Advertising Standards Canada (ASC) to develop a list ofguidelines on the branding and promotion of marijuana once it’s legalized. It was clear that thiswas an opportunity for companies to advocate to be able to use their brand names and havesome freedom on packaging standards.Health advocates have fired back, seeking similar restrictions on packaging and promotion tothose for cigarettes. Companies have returned fire, stating that branding and name recognitioncould help cut down on illicit sales of marijuana. One company owner postulated: “We have tobe able to differentiate ourselves from individual illegal marketers who are out there right now, that are branded to the hilt in these illegal dispensaries and aren’t going to abide by federalrules.”In a list of official guidelines released in late 2017, the industry and ASC regulations includedaspects of branding, but also zeroed in on promotion. The guidelines stipulate the need forresponsible use and age restrictions, along with a voluntary program to submit promotionalmessages to ASC for pre-approval before being presented to the public. But the government’sCannabis Act seems to indicate more restrictive measures for marketing marijuana. And theregulations seem to allow for provinces to make some of their own decisions on how rules areadhered to.This muddied situation is a huge challenge for a new, potentially lucrative industry. But it mightalso build an opportunity for creativity. Kwantlen Polytechnic instructor David Brown recentlyobserved: “These limitations can really aid in creativity. Marketing weed isn’t difficult, butmarketing a highly regulated cannabis product is a lot more of a challenge.”Canada can also look south of the border to see how to manage the promotion of marijuana, including the cases of two of the U.S. states that have legalized pot: “Colorado allows print, radio, TV and Internet ads if there’s reliable evidence that 70 per cent of the audience is over21, while Washington State requires ads to contain a number of warnings.”With so much uncertainty, it leads one to believe that the creation and adherence to rulesand regulations will be a protracted process. Some regulations for derivative products, likecandies and cookies, might not be ready until 2019. But steps need to be taken to address allthe ways in which companies could promote marijuana.Equipped with your understanding of integrated marketing communications (IMC) and thepromotional (communications) mix, you are tasked with highlighting the important factorswhen thinking about the entire communications and promotions process for marijuana. Be sureto include important models and concepts in your analysis. You will have to be clear, evenblunt, to make your case for a properly structured IMC.

Question It seems more prudent to take your cue from the customer advisory board than from the focus group, so you’ve decided to focus on the issue of price. But slashing price would have major ramifications, including a hit to your bottom line and a possible price war with competition. Before taking this step, you need more research to confirm whether or not the exploratory data was correct. The relentless pressure to hold down costs leads you to consider a relatively inexpensive survey using the company’s mail panel. Like any mail survey, it would enable you to reach a diverse group – not just social media fans or other Internet regulars. You could develop a simple, standardized instrument asking respondents to rate the importance of price and other factors, like performance, in their purchase decisions. But you know that people who take time to participate in panels may differ significantly from the general population. It may be worth spending more to use mail survey of a national consumer sample. You’d feel more confident moving forward based on results from a large, relatively unbiased pool of participants. Low response rates could be a problem, but enclosing coupons or other incentives may help. is the answer :A) Mail Panel B) National Consumer Sample
