Post Discussion: “In the News” and Health Literacy

Find a video clip from a reputable national or local news station focusing on the physiological process of aging discussed in Chapter 3 (Ferrini & Ferrini, 2013). Search the major news station websites (For example: CNN, ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS) to locate a video between 2-5 minutes long. Include a link to the clip in your discussion post and provide a brief summary.

Locate at least two sources of additional information from websites that would not be considered credible. Does the information support or oppose the news story? Could this 2-5 minute news story mislead an older adult? How might health literacy impact an individual’s ability to logically assess the information presented by the news story and online?

Support your statements with evidence from the required studies and your research. Use APA style to cite your sources.
