Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

Initial responses to the DQ should address all components of the questions asked, include a minimum of one scholarly source, and be at least 250 words.

In addition to the DQ responses, you must post at least one reply to peers (or me) on three separate days, for a total of three replies.
Participation posts do not require a scholarly source/citation (unless you cite someone else’s work).

APA Format and Writing Quality
Familiarize yourself with APA format and practice using it correctly. It is used for most writing assignments for your degree. Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in LoudCloud for APA paper templates, citation examples, tips, etc. Points will be deducted for poor use of APA format or absence of APA format (if required).
Cite all sources of information! When in doubt, cite the source. Paraphrasing also requires a citation.
I highly recommend using the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition.
Use of Direct Quotes
I discourage overutilization of direct quotes in DQs and assignments at the Masters’ level and deduct points accordingly.
As Masters’ level students, it is important that you be able to critically analyze and interpret information from journal articles and other resources. Simply restating someone else’s words does not demonstrate an understanding of the content or critical analysis of the content.

The best way to identify actions are within the domain of one’s nursing practice is education. What is a nurse’s scope of practice? It depends on what state they live in and what specialty they practice. In Texas: The mission of the Texas Board of Nursing (BON or Board) is to protect and promote the welfare of the people of Texas by ensuring that each person holding a license as a nurse in this state is competent to practice safely. The Board fulfills its mission through the regulation of the practice of nursing and the approval of nursing educational programs.
This mission, derived from the Nursing Practice Act, supersedes the interest of any individual, the nursing profession, or any special interest group. (2008) observe that there has been an increase in emergency department visits by patients due to; a shortage in physicians, increased medical costs, and reduced medical insurance coverage. Hence, there was a need for nurse practitioners in the emergency department in order to reduce waiting time and to allow the physicians to attend to medically urgent cases (Corker et al., 2009). Triage
The emergency nurse should triage all the patients that arrive at the emergency department in order to determine the priority of a patient’s treatment, as well as the factors influencing patient flow. At triage, the emergency nurse assesses the patient’s health complaints after which a symptom analysis effected. After assessing the patient, the nurse communicates to the other emergency team members on a patient’s arrival, and assigns the patient to the relevant health care department. There are situations that the emergency nurse needs to consult or refer the patient to a medical officer or a general practitioner. The situations include:
Persisting symptoms or signs despite treatment
Recurrence of symptoms, signs, or infection
Change in behavior whose cause is not organic
In a potentially life threatening situation such as:
When a patient displays symptoms that are a threat to life or other body parts
If the patient exhibits, a blockage in any system
If there is evidence of severe infection
A fever of more than 39 degrees Celsius in children between 3-36 months
Any physical damage below the fascia
When there is deterioration of the patient’s chronic condition
