| Customer Relationship Management tools are excellent tools for managing relationships. You will learn more about these in Chapter11. For now, let it suffice to know that they maintain massive amounts of data on customers, purchases, preferences, individuals, and products. This amount of data has to be kept secure. For this activity you will be working for Hannah Shaw, Marketing Director for Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas. Having chosen Salesforce.com as their CRM tool, they have set out to create a very unique experience for customers. Below is a letter from Hannah detailing what she needs out of this project. Hi! We at Caesars Entertainment have recently chosen Salesforce.com as our CRM tool. Our goal is to create a very unique experience for our customers. With this system we are able to maintain a complete customer profile that includes hotel reservations, event attendance, preferences, and more in a system that is accessible organization-wide. However, I am concerned about the data we hold on certain “high-profile” customers (musicians, artists, executives, politicians, etc.). To help me out, I would like for you to search the web “CRM Security Policy” and look for policies written by CRM providers (such assalesforce.com) and CRM users (customers ofsalesforce.com). I think you will find a plethora of information not only from those listed above, but also from other third parties interested, such as cloud storage providers. Read over the policies that you find and integrate this information into a report for me. I think Information Security will require physical measures (physically locked doors, security guards, etc.), technical measures (firewalls, authentication methods, etc.), and social measures (training) but am not sure of the right balance of these. After considering these requirements, provide a report to me that outlines how I can create a well-rounded security policy for Caesars Entertainment that will protect the data we hold on our customers. |
