Seguir in the Present Tense
The present tense is used to talk about habits and actions that happen in the present. The verb seguir is regular for the nosotros and vosotros forms in the present tense. For all other pronouns it makes an ‘e’ to ‘i’ shift.

Note: Seguir has one more meaning. It can also be used to mean ‘to still be’ or ‘to remain’. For example: Sigue lloviendo. (It is still raining.) or ¿Sigues enfermo? (Are you still sick?)

Seguir in the Preterite Tense
The preterite tense is used to talk about things that happened in the immediate past. The verb seguir is mostly regular in the preterite tense. However, for the third-person singular and plural, there is an ‘e’ to ‘i’ shift.
