This project asks you to engage with data, present data for a specific audience, and practice making effective data visualizations. The project focuses on the fair, accurate, and ethical use of data, the conventions of writing with numbers and data, how to integrate figures into a document, and how to design effective visualizations. Audience and purpose are central to the goal of the final deliverable. As you will learn in completing this project, numbers don’t speak for themselves, and writing with data requires critical and rhetorical thought, as well as visual design skills. In working on this project, you will engage with different types of visuals, as well as the conventions of writing with data and numbers. To achieve these goals, you will select a data set work with from one of the resources listed below. You will decide on a point you want to make for a specific audience using your data. You will then make decisions about which data to visualize from the larger data set, create three data visualizations help you make your point, and craft that data into a final deliverable of one page that includes three visuals and the text necessary to explain their data and make your point. You also will compose a reflective memo that explains your choices and goals, and how the final deliverable achieves them.In addition to your textbook chapter on (Links to an external site.)Visual Design, you may which to use this (Links to an external site.)Periodic Table of Visualization Methods (Links to an external site.) to explore various types and uses of visuals.Data visualizations bring a number of benefits to any professional document, even short ones:For example:This short report from the Department of Education (Links to an external site.)provides an overview of literacy and numeracy for men and women. In this online short report, the authors created two bar charts that are designed to show relationships between data and then they briefly explain the importance of the data. For this project, you will find a data set and create a short informational report that includes at least three data visualizations that you feel best communicates that data in a form that maximizes the impact of the data to suit a specific audience and purpose. To help you find a data set, here’s a link to a list of websites that provide raw data sets on various topics:19 Free Public Data Sets for Your First Data Science Project (Links to an external site.)Find a data set you want to work with and spend some time with the data. Identify the trends that jump out at you as most significant. As you identify your audience, think about who would want to know about the data and the point you’d like to make.1. Visual Report (Draft)A one-page, informative, visually interesting report that provides a broad overview of your subject. This report should incorporate at three types of visuals along with a discussion/analysis of the data in your figures. The text included should introduce the topic and its importance, explain the meaning of the visuals, and to point to the conclusions suggested by the data. You should think through and identify a clear audience. The analysis of the audience informs how the data is presented, the form the visualizations take, and the point you use the data to make, as well as the overall purpose of the document.2. Visual Report (Final)3. Reflective AnalysisA short 250- to 500-word note that explains the following (use headings to identify each topic):

following article and in a paragraph or 2 discuss how you the concepts apply
Read the following article and in a paragraph or 2 discuss how you the concepts apply to leading an arts organization. After posting your discussion pose a question to one of your peers.student KH:Within an arts organization, I would venture to say that most times there are boundaries set before a project has become. The strategy is set, and the artists are confined to its parameters. The article states that planners should make their contribution around strategy-making process rather than inside it”. When thinking about an ideal like this, makes me think that linking a fantastic, inspiring idea to one component of the strategy is a better way to go about it than trying to fit a subpar project within the strategy.Later in the article it is said about strategic planning that, “the world is supposed to hold still while a plan is being developed and then stay on the predicted course while that plan is being implemented”. I am extremely pleased with the article for being up this, amount other fallacies of strategic planning because it often times gets a bad rep. When looking at this fallacy, (as if it were true), with correspondences to fitting a project within the parameters of strategic planning, I would say that art needs to defy both of these concepts. Artists should be able to make art however and whenever they want. However, within the arts organization it is logical that there is a manager that after the art/creative side has been made and done, the manager looks at what is feasible. Having strategic, soft outlines for artist is smart but creating a box for them to fit in is not.

ordering system by analyzing the data and determining how the next supplier order should be structured.
to look at the current demand and come up withan ordering system by analyzing the data and determining how the next supplier order should be structured. Your goal is to create the right price mixture between the companies that will maximize profit, reduce spillage, and lower your overall costs. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS1.Create an excel spreadsheet that shows the food requirements for the next month(January). Use the past three month’s actual usage to formulate a forecast for each item for the month of January. See Table 2: Product usage for October, November and December.Normally, the proceeding month’s usage is a good indicator of what will be consumed for the following month, so use a weighted average method to determine what will be used in January. Use the following weights: October – 20%, November – 30 %, December – 50% 2.Create a spread sheet that illustrates the cost of each case from both competitors and theaverage price per unit for each competitor. Use the information in Table 1: Comparison Prices. 3.Once you have completed the forecast, calculate the order cost of each item and comparebetween the two. Based on the cost involved, choose the better supplier for each item and then calculate the total spoilage loss. Then, calculate the monetary loss based on spoilage. Make sure you calculate the total amount of spoilage expected from each supplier for the month. Fresh Delights will charge a 2.5% delivery fee for everything that is ordered. Horton’s deliveries are free. Horton’s will give a 5% discount on your entire purchase as long as the entire order amount exceeds $5,000. Calculate the total order cost of Horton’s and Fresh Delight’s based on the information provided to Michael Smith. 4.Calculate what your total expected revenue will be for the month of January. Using thesame weighted forecasting technique, determine how many dinner and breakfast buffets the hotel can expect to sell for the month. The hotel is currently charging $28.95 per dinner buffet, and $14.95 per breakfast buffet. Determine what your profit is for the month of January. Gross profit is calculated using the expression: Total Revenue – Total Costs = Gross Profit.Determine what your food cost percentage was for the month of January. Food cost percentage is calculated using the expression: Total Costs / Total Revenue. 5.How is this restaurant doing when compared to industry average? (Please make sure tocite the source from which you collected information on industry average). 6.Will you change your decision on supplier of any products considering the spoilage cost?If yes, for which products you will change the supplier based on spoilage?
