Case Questions:
1.) How would you characterize the pressures for local responsiveness and the pressures for global integration in the gaming industry (using Yip’s framework)?
2.) What do you think are the main competitive advantages of Ubisoft (important value chain activities include R&D/inputs, production, distribution and marketing and sales)?  Using the information you have in the readings, how would you describe Ubisoft’s international expansion strategy using the IR Framework?
3.) How well does Ubisoft’s strategy fit with the industry analysis you did in Q1?  Given your industry and firm analysis (your responses to Q1 and Q2), would you suggest any changes at Ubisoft?  If not, why not and if yes, what changes do you suggest?
4.) Please think about the managerial orientations we discussed on 10/23 (using the chapter reading assigned for 10/23).  Would you describe the managerial orientation at Ubisoft as a decentralized federation, a coordinated federation or a centralized hub?
