Module Code & Title: Understanding International Business
Contribution to Final Module Mark: 30%
Description of Assessment Task and Purpose:
You are to assume that you have recently been employed by one of the companies (Appendix 6) which is planning for an overseas expansion. The list of the companies are also available in the learning materials section of Blackboard. As a part of your role, you have been assigned to analyse the company and foreign market entry strategies. If you like to work on a different MNE, you need to get approval
from your tutor.
Assessment One: Individual essay: 1000 words (30% of overall module assessment mark)
In your first task (1000 words), you need to analyse the firm to identify the key factors influencing your chosen MNE. The supporting statements on the company analysis should be evidence based with references. (30% marks). Please do NOT choose a country to operate in at this stage.

Assessment Submission Instructions: Due Date: Wednesday 30/10/2019 Time: 12pm (Midday)
You are required to submit your assessment before 12 pm on Wednesday 30th October 2019 using the online assessment submission facility on the Module Blackboard site. Pay careful attentions to instructions provided at the time of submission.
Late submission, where an extension has not already been granted, will attract penalties at the level stipulated in the Regulations (i.e. a reduction of 10 percentage points for each whole or partial working day late).
Format for Assessment:
The essay is limited to 1000 words. The word count includes everything in the main body of the text (including headings, tables, citations, quotes etc). It does not include your reference list/cover page. The word count should be clearly stated on the first page of the assignment.
Please follow these formatting guidelines:
- Font / Size: Arial or Times New Roman / 12
- Spacing / Sides: 1.5 / Single Sided
- Page numbers required? Yes
- Margins: At least 2.54 to left and right and text ‘justified’
- Referencing: Full compliance with Harvard protocols
