Business management structure or organization refers to the process through which a business manages its resources to ensure efficiency and maximum profit. It is a collection of different departments with the top departments being the management department. The Volkswagen Group constitutes designers, engineers, manufacturers, and distributors of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles engines and turbo machinery. It has 340 affiliate companies. The CEO manages some of the units which make up the top officials occupy the high level in the organization. Volkswagen Group includes Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Bentley, Lamborghini, VW, Seat, Scania AB, Skoda, and, VW Trucks. It was the largest motor constructor by the year 2011.
The management of Volkswagen Group constitutes CEOs, top managers, and board members. The CEO who is at the top position. He overlooks all the activities of the company. Immediately after the CEO are corporate managers. Corporate managers work closely in coordination with the CEO to ensure efficient running of the business. Corporate managers provide the linkage between the CEO and other members of the organization. The management board is imperative to ensure success of the company including functionality (Volkswagen Group, 2016).
After the Corporate Manager, at every unit, there are different structures. For instance, the three structures include product structure, Geographic structure, and the Market structure. These structures are further divided into smaller units. For example, The Geographic division is further classified under four regions. They are the Northern Region, Western Region, Southern Region and Eastern Region. Market division too was divided into smaller groups that included large-business customers, small-business customers, educational institutions, and individual customers. Product structure is in three distinct divisions. The divisions include Washing Machine & Dryer Division, lighting Division and Television and Stereo Division.
