Stakeholder Identification, Analysis and Management
You have asked to develop a stakeholder management plan for a construction project in the centre of Sligo Town. The project comprises of the demolition of existing building and outbuildings and erection of a five-storey Garda station building. It is proposed that the new station will cover the entire site area indicated by the red line (not encroaching onto the existing footpath or road). (See enclosed maps).
The existing building is a listed structure. All maps are orientated to the north (being the top) and south (being the bottom). To the south is a primary school. The site is bounded by public roads to the north and west. On the opposite side of the road to the Count House and a number of businesses. Existing offices (dentist, solicitor, etc) are located to the north of the site.
The task consists of two stages– the planning stage and the construction stage. In this example, we will presume we eventually get through the planning stage;
1. Identify ALL possible project stakeholders for both Planning and Construction stages
2. Plot all stakeholders on an Interest Influence graph/table
3. Analysis of the findings and discuss the risks proposed by each stakeholder to the success of the project
4. Formulate a brief stakeholder Management Plan (including a preliminary communication plan for each)
