Assessment Task 1: Mathematics in Real Life Context
A report that focuses on real-life applications of mathematics. This application might include historical/cultural links and/or contextualised mathematics from the present world.
This task is designed to allow you to
and cultural contexts, and to explore the connections between different areas of mathematics. It is intended to provide an opportunity for you to show the depth and connectedness of your mathematical knowledge. You need to work on this task individually. Further details of each part are outlined below.
Part A: Photograph Selection
You are to select or take 3 photographs or diagrams/ pictures, one/two showing (a) an historical usage of mathematics, or an historical photograph which will allow you to apply mathematical analysis to it; AND one/two showing (b) a cultural usage of mathematics or a cultural photograph which will allow you to apply

1600 words. The assessment should not be more than 10 pages in length (12 point, times roman font) and should consist of 3 photos, text, and neatly presented diagrams that clearly support the mathematics being discussed.
