In a written paper of 1,250-1,500 words, evaluate the current forces driving change in the nursing industry. As a leader, or considering the role of a leader, assess your organization and evaluate how well it is responding to the forces, and identify where there is a need for change. Develop a vision to inspire this change. Include the following:

1. Describe your organization, include the organization’s mission, and identify the various stakeholders.

2. Identify the external and internal forces that drive organizational change in your field or industry. Explain the origin or reason for these internal or external driving forces. Explain how these forces directly affect the viability of your organization.

3. Choose one of the driving forces. Describe the specific issues this driving force creates, or will potentially create, for your organization or department.

4. Propose the steps needed for your organization or department to respond to this driving force.

5. Predict how employees at various levels in the organization will respond to your proposed change initiative.

6. Develop a vision for change. Describe how this vision correlates with the organization’s mission, and how you will present this vision to internal stakeholders.

7. Predict how you think your vision will assist internal stakeholders in supporting the change initiative. Identify potential considerations posed by stakeholders, and discuss how you will respond.

The access to the healthcare services

The access to healthcare is a basic right should be offered to all the members of the public in a country. The United States’ government should and, therefore, safeguard the rights of the citizen from violations by ensuring that quality healthcare services are provided to the people. The access to the healthcare services is a basic right of the people should ensure that the people are given fair and equal treatments as far as the healthcare is concerned. (Winters, 2018) Similar services should be provided to the members of the public as that would help in safeguarding their welfare hence reducing the possible discrimination and biases which might again lead to the excessive violation of their rights. The basic healthcare services should be provided to all the United States’ citizens as that would help in safeguarding their rights which should be guaranteed by the government. This is done by developing universal healthcare services whose agenda is to provide quality services to the people without discriminating them. (Marozzi, 2018)

For the United States’ residents who are not citizens of the country, universal healthcare services should again be provided to them as that would help in safeguarding the good name of the country. This will play a significant role in bringing about good public relations with the other countries in the entire world if the citizens of the country are given quality healthcare attention while still in the United States. The basic healthcare services should be paid by the government due to the fact it is its responsibilities to ensure that the rights of the people are protected through the right medical attention and care. The payment done by the government will again make it easy for the services to be offered without discriminations as the government will develop a mechanism to weed out all the discriminative processes. (Kleinman, 2018)

Traditional approaches to patient care

Research is used in all facility, in all departments. “Nursing research is a systematic process of inquiry that uses rigorous guidelines to produce unbiased, trustworthy answers to questions about nursing practice” (Houser, 2015). I work for The Villages Regional Hospital. In our hospital, we use research at all times. In our hospital, we use Evidence-Based Practice (EBP). The hospital that I work for is a small hospital and we do not have a research committee. After asking several people I work with they were not aware of having a research committee. I think research is an important component of clinical practice. Houser (2015) states nursing research aims to generate new knowledge to inform the practice of nursing. I think it is important to be informed and have knowledge as a nurse because patients always have questions. I believe from experience if you know why you are doing what you are doing the patients trust you more. For instance, if we have an EMS IV put in that comes to the medical floor, we have 24 hours to change the IV. Patients hate needles as much as I do, but if we explain to them the reason why we have to change they immediately agree to. My peers and clinical educator told me that changing IV that were from the EMS is not done in a sterile technique and have a higher risk of infection.

Several reasons why nurses can use research are to be able to practice from others research and knowing evidence exists. They are able to explore the phenomena and describe the effects of the evidence in health. They can find solutions to existing problems. Nurses can also test traditional approaches to patient care for continued relevance and effectiveness.
