Although some people state that autonomous vehicles are the way of the future, others argue that autonomous vehicles will not be the answer to vehicle safety or environmental concerns. With autonomous vehicles there are still risks of accidents, both minor and fatal. The system failures and cyber security breaches are two main causes of these risks. Also, even though autonomous vehicles take the person out of the driver’s seat, that doesn’t mean human beings are no longer part of the equation. The environmental impact of self-driving vehicles depends primarily on what we choose to do with them.
