This assignment will allow you to examine a local educational setting, identify potential barriers in this setting for people with disabilities, and propose ways of overcoming or removing these barriers. This assignment will give you practice in analyzing a particular educational setting and will help you prepare for your final, Major Assessment assignment, due in Week 5.
To prepare for this Application Assignment, identify an educational setting with which you are familiar. You may choose a formal (school, college, or training organization) or informal (community organization) setting. The setting you choose could be your own work setting or one you can access easily (for example, a church, library, or community center).
Next, review the section “Six Barriers to Success” on pages 63–83 in your course text.
Write a 2- to 3-page paper that addresses the following questions:

-What are the key characteristics of the educational setting? Who are the learners? Who are the instructors or facilitators? What kinds of learning experiences are provided?
-What barriers to success might people with disabilities encounter in this setting?
-Which of these barriers are the result of differences in the thinking and behavior of individuals?
-Which barriers could be removed or reduced, and how? What would need to be done to remove the particular barrier(s)?Remember to cite concepts from your text and to use APA style in your writing.
