Jung thought that all mental disorders were a result of incorrect thinking and that with proper training these disorders can be treated through various forms of talk therapy. Certainly the benefits of CBT cannot be denied. Herein, I am not talking about mental disorders or illnesses that arise as a result of brain damage, disease or defects in the underlying tissues, but only those disorders that occur with healthy tissue. My personal view is that I tend to agree with this, especially in light of Christian scripture, it seems like those who choose hedonistic lifestyles over submission to God lifestyles have much higher rates of mental disorders. That is a very superficial observation from a person who is an engineer and a therapist. Given that we have alot of therapists in this class I would be very interested in hearing your perspectives.
