In the proposed capstone it is clear the main issue being addressed is facilitation and the development of the medical assistant program. The designing of the program is essential for ensuring that medical staffs, including medical office assistants, understand various codes of ethics in the medical field that can be applied in the workplace to enhance their operations.
With this, it is necessary to evaluate the need for the program which is supported by the following facts. The main core duty of the medical office assistant is performing specialized medical duties such as: diagnosis and treatment of diseasesand injury, ordering and interpreting of the medical tests, performing routine medical and surgical procedures, and referring patients to other medical practitioners. It is clear that the medical office assistant deals with right and wrong conduct which requires the critical decision making process. This requires the need for ethical operations; the code of ethics is vital and is the essential focus that beyond patient’s medical conditions. This is where the principle will guide and weigh the effective ethical operations that basically propels and facilitates the suitable care operation(Somerville, 2017).
According to Margaret (2008) it is clear that “the value in conflict must be prioritized and the essence of doing ethics is to justify breaching the values that are not respected”(Somerville, 2017).It is also clear that the law of principlism argues that that the need of understanding the clear distinction between ethical arguments that are based on set principles. The law argues that code of ethics in medical operations generates a dimension that is critical in acting the right way.The ethical program would be effective to reach medical decision making process by the patient through the medical office assistant providing full information, which is founded on ethics and competence, or the code of ethics.
The medical operation goal is promoting what is best for the patient. Medical office assistants cannot facilitate the operations without afriendly relationship andprofessional judgement, which would be facilitated by developing a medical office assistant program, which entails code of ethics.
There is a need for development of the medical office assistantprogram meant to propel and facilitate ethical operations(Kerns, 2003). This is clearly based by the fact that the medical operations are founded by the phrase“do not harm.”This should be the main focus by the organizational medical staff in that each and every treatment entails some degree of risk and/or side effects. It is therefore clear that there is need to ethically provide the patient with the information such aspreventive measures and curative dimensions which is essential in achieving the goal of the medical care. The principle of confidentiality prevails which forms a cornerstone of medical staff- patient relationship that is critical in respecting the rights of the patients’ privacy which can only be achieved through code of ethics(Kass, 2004).This is where the program should focus and encourage a comprehensive relationship between patient and medical office assistants.Medical staff will be able to encourage patients seek effective medical care, preventing any discrimination dimensions and not releasing patients information without the consent of the patient.
The program will also be essential toincreasing the level of competence need to be achieved, which basically begins with clarification of the medical staffvalues and understanding the values of the patients(Uustal, 1993).Thus the culture competence that would be achieved by the medical staff will therefore generate ethical demand and knowing how to respect the rights of other patients(Uustal, 1993). Through the development of the ethical program there will be great conformance with utilitarian theory which argues that doing the most good for most people.Themedical staff will have clear insight to determine what actions to be taken based on the group involved in their operations. It is clear that the medical officeassistants employed by the organization facilitate some of the duties related with management of delegated resources to facilitate their duties. This then being the case, using the utilitarian theory, the program will be fundamental in founding policy development(Somerville, 2017). This is through critical evaluation of the cost best analysis which is essential in evaluating all possible options of probable consequences.Through the development of medical officeassistant program, which focuses on codes of ethics, will be essential and conform to deontological theory which basically argues balancing rights and obligations(The Basics of Philosophy). This is clearly indicated by the fact that the medical operations by the medical office assistantswill be more transparent, thus not causing harm to patients.
Through the dimensions of creating the medical office assistant programs it is clear that accountability will be more achieved in the context that medical office assistantswill clearly delegate their duties, respecting various duties and responsibilities that have been delegated on to them without any hindrances. Thus each and every resource will be effectively maximized and used for the right purpose without any deviation which has been the hindrance in many of the medical facilitates.
