When I first learned about cells I had a tough time trying to remember what all of those tiny little organelle with big names actually did. It helped me to use an analogy.

I think of the cells as one big cookie factory. The nucleus is the central office where the secret cookie recipe, the DNA, is stored. The RNA copies the recipe in the nucleus and brings it to the ribosome. The ribosome uses the recipe copied by the DNA to make the cookie dough, or proteins. The mitochondria is the oven that bakes the cookies. The cookies are then sent by way of the endoplasmic reticulum, a conveyor belt, to the golgi apparatus, the office where they are packaged and labled for shipping. The endoplasmic reticulum then sends the packaged cookies out of the cell through the cell membrane, the doors of the factory. The lysosome is the janitor that sweeps up any stray crumbs.
What is another analogy I can make that incorporates at least 5 organelles to help me better understand the plant cell? For example, analogies I can make using a post office, the government, rooms in a house, etc. Be creative!
Please add a picture to help illustrate the analogy!
