basis. But how are the differences explained between people who have inherited the same genes but react quite differently to the same stimuli? Why are some introverted individuals better at adapting in some environments and extroverted individuals better at adapting in other environments?
According to behaviorists, you should stop asking what is it about this person that makes him or her act the way he or she does, and start asking what it is in that person’s environment that has made him or her act the way he or she does (Ahmetoglu & Chamorro-Premuzic, 2012, p. 11). By doing so, you are shifting the source of the behavior from the mind and the person to the environment. But once again, which one—genetics or environment—has the greater impact on behavior? In this Assignment, you will reflect on biological and behaviorist theories and their applicability in explaining human behavior.
